After a few months of planning and organizing the event with our lovely collaborators at FOCUS on Seniors, the Family Bazaar finally took place this past Saturday, May 21st at the Falconridge/ Castleridge Community Association. The event boasted of 38 fantastic vendors, selling everything from various cultural foods, flea market items, fashion and jewelry, cosmetics, arts and crafts, as well as displays from a variety of local agencies. That wasn’t all however, Musicians and dancers of all cultures flowered the event while kids and adults alike enjoyed hot activities such as henna painting, a multicultural photobooth, along with Arushas infamous button making station.

As well, a special thanks to the Minister of Human Services, the Honourable Irfan Sabir, for his wonderful speech at the event as well as taking the time to mingle and chat with individual attendees. Also, a small shout out to our friends at Calgary Immigrant Women’s Society (http://www.ciwa-online.com/) and Ethno Cultural Council of Calgary (http://www.ecccalgary.com/) for their contributions to the event.
